Boys Tennis Junior Varsity Coach

About the Role

The Junior Varsity Coach reports to the Head Coach, Director of Athletics, and High School Principal, collaborating closely with the Head Coach to fulfill assigned responsibilities. This role involves nurturing and developing student-athletes while adhering to MIAA regulations and fostering a respectful, inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and conduct practice sessions, filing the schedule with the Head Coach.
• Assist in issuing, securing, and maintaining athletic equipment.
• Attend meetings with the Athletic Management Team and other coaches as requested.
• Ensure compliance with MIAA rules and regulations among players and coaches.
• Maintain records as requested by the Head Coach or Director of Athletics.
• Conduct clinics for elementary students and participate in professional development clinics.
• Ensure the safety and security of athletes during practices, games, travel, and in locker rooms.
• Assist the varsity team as needed and perform additional duties assigned by the Head Coach or Director of Athletics.
• Establish communication with community members, parents, and booster clubs to support athlete development.
• Promote balance between academic and athletic commitments, monitoring student-athletes' academic progress.
• Collaborate with student-athletes, guidance counselors, and parents during the college application and selection process.
• Connect CRLS athletes with college coaches in accordance with NCAA regulations and identify scholarship opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university (preferred).
• Previous successful playing and/or coaching experience.
• Current certifications: CPR/AED & First Aid, Online Concussion Education, Online Implicit Bias Education, and MIAA Coaches Education Requirements.
• Completion of CORI form and fingerprinting background check.
• Fulfillment of all state-mandated requirements for coaching.

Pay

Flat rate of $3,849.00 for the contract period, paid in two installments per season: the first payment mid-season and the second at the end of the season.

Schedule

Contract length: July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026.
