Boys Junior Varsity Basketball Coach

About the role

The Port Angeles High School is seeking a Boys Junior Varsity Basketball Coach for the winter season. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Boys Varsity Head Coach to support all aspects of the basketball program.

• Duty to Provide Appropriate Emergency Care
• Duty to Document and Report

Requirements

• Previous coaching or playing experience in basketball preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of basketball fundamentals, rules, and game strategy.
• Ability to plan and lead practices and games at the junior varsity level.
• Ability to teach and reinforce program systems and player development goals.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Able to work collaboratively with the Head Coach and coaching staff.
• Must meet or be willing to obtain all WIAA coaching certification requirements.
• Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification, or able to obtain prior to the season.
• Able to complete all district-required safety training.
• Able to maintain student confidentiality and follow district and school policies.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.

Benefits

• Supports all aspects of the basketball program under the direction of the Boys Varsity Head Coach.
• Available to support summer basketball programming, including camps and tournaments throughout June and July, under the direction of the Head Coach.
