Boys Basketball Team Assistant

About the role

The Assistant Coach will support the school principal in helping students achieve a high level of skill, appreciation for discipline and sportsmanship, and increased self-esteem through team activities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain team organization, discipline, and good relationships with people
• Schedule and prepare for practices and games
• Properly manage and care for equipment and supplies
• Develop the program
• Model ethical behavior and moral character
• Plan and chaperone out-of-town games
• Manage finances and budget requests
• Enforce and follow school athletic policies and by-laws
• Take care of insurance, physicals, and transportation forms
• Work with the transportation director on transportation arrangements

Requirements

• High School Diploma required
• Successful experience working with secondary students
• Evidence of coaching experience, training, or degree in coaching, or experience as a coach or advisor

Qualifications

Must be 21 years of age or older.
