Box Truck Driver - Transportation Associate

About the role

M–F 2:00 pm–11:00 pm, 40 hrs / week

Responsibilities

• Safely transport patients within hospital premises using wheelchairs, stretchers, or beds to designated departments.
• Assist patients with boarding and disembarking as needed, ensuring comfort and safety.
• Interact with patients and families in a compassionate and professional manner.
• Address patient concerns or needs promptly and respectfully.
• Communicate effectively with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate transport needs.
• Report any changes in a patient’s condition or concerns to appropriate medical personnel.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
• Class D Passenger Vehicle Driver’s License (state license).
• MGH Security RMV check / Registry of Motor Vehicles Driving Report.
• Experience driving a small truck or box truck; CDL not required.
• 1–2 years of experience in a healthcare or customer service role preferred.

• Ability to handle patients with care, demonstrating empathy and patience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and hospital procedures.
• Ability to lift and maneuver patients and equipment safely.
• Must obtain a medical card through Occupational Health upon hire and be subject to random drug and alcohol testing.

Pay

$17.71 – $25.28 / Hourly
