Box Truck Driver - New York, NY -Full-Time

About the Role

Join our team as a Box Truck Driver based in the Brooklyn/Queens area. We are looking for an experienced, knowledgeable, safe driver.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate box truck to transport freight across multiple routes
• Load and unload cargo efficiently using appropriate equipment such as pallet jacks or hand tools, ensuring cargo safety and security
• Verify delivery details, inspect vehicles before and after trips, and perform routine maintenance checks to ensure optimal performance
• Follow designated routes accurately while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations; plan routes for efficiency
• Communicate effectively with team lead/dispatchers regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues during transit
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a delivery driver or truck driver with knowledge of route driving and freight handling
• Good driving record
• Ability to load and unload freight safely using equipment such as pallet jacks, appliance dolly or roll-off mechanisms
• Strong understanding of safety procedures
• Excellent navigation skills with the ability to follow GPS or route maps accurately
• Minimum three years driving experience

Physical Requirements

• Lift 100 lbs. to waist height
• Must be able to maneuver objects up to 350 lbs. with moving equipment
• Push/Pull 75-100 lbs.
• Walk and stand for duration of shift
• Lift above head, bend, stoop

Certifications

• Driver's License is required

Pay

$25 - $26 / hour
