Responsibilities

  • Maintain the center equipment under the direction of the Manager and/or Bowling Supervisor.
  • Train Technicians and new hires, working with the Bowling Manager and/or Supervisor to ensure they follow a documented training schedule and progressively build their Bowling Technician skills in a 16-lane center.
  • Create Technician break schedules and fill in when needed to cover shifts for Technician PTO or call-outs.
  • Assist in maintaining pinspotters/setters, automatic scoring equipment, lanes, and all other bowling center equipment at the highest level of operating proficiency.
  • Maintain and replenish correct parts inventory by recording machine repairs and parts used.
  • Follow the established Preventive Maintenance program.
  • Maintain a clean work area and a safe working environment.
  • Respond to customer complaints about machine malfunction; analyze the mechanism to find the root of the problem.
  • Train Technicians to abide by Machine Area Safety Procedures and Standards of Operation.
  • Follow and ensure that Policies and Procedures of the Bowling property and Casino Operation are followed.
  • Ensure compliance with Tribal, State, and Federal regulations.
  • Ensure control and protection of company assets.
  • Communicate in a clear and professional manner.
  • Work well with others and take feedback constructively.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance in constrained areas, including getting in, out, and on top of machines.
  • Work and concentrate in a loud and chaotic environment.
  • Work with Technicians to create and maintain daily, weekly, and annual preventative maintenance calendars.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Understand and work with belt-driven mechanically timed systems.
  • Maintain open availability, including weekend nights and holidays as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Exceptional guest service skills.
  • Combination of education and 5–10 years of experience working as a mechanic or maintenance technician in a customer service-oriented environment.
  • AMF Pinsetter experience preferred.
  • Experience working with belt-driven mechanically timed systems and ability to repair belt systems.
  • Ability to maintain professional, courteous, and effective working relationships with all levels of the organization and outside business contacts.
  • Proven intermediate skills in Windows, MS Office Programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), and experience with database systems.
  • Ability to prepare reports, correspondence, charts, forms, and other information and instructions.
  • Knowledgeable in bowling operations—1 year of experience required.
  • Customer service-oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to multi-task, and work independently.
  • Ability to work in a challenging environment dealing with sensitive issues while maintaining confidentiality, strong attention to detail, and excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of MSDS, OSHA requirements, and biohazard clean-up and disposal.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Certificates, Licenses, Regulations

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Class B gaming license with the Stillaguamish Tribal Gaming Agency.
  • Technical certificate in an industrial-related field.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Constantly requires the ability to receive detailed information through oral and written communication.
  • Requires exerting up to 75 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Exposed to tobacco smoke on a regular basis.
  • Requires repetitive movement with the ability to stand and/or walk for an entire shift.
