Bow Technician - Part-Time
About the role
At SCHEELS, we are seeking a Bow Technician who is a hands-on expert in fine-tuning high-performance bows. This role requires a strong background in bow mechanics, technical skills, and the ability to guide customers through the shopping process.
Responsibilities
- Master the craft: Set up, tune, and repair bows to ensure they are precision-ready for the field.
- Be the expert guide: Help customers understand and utilize our merchandise, including the benefits of the Scheels Visa Rewards card.
- Curate the experience: Maintain a professional and organized work area, ensuring the archery department is always stocked and ready for action.
- Collaborate & grow: Attend specialized training, solve unique customer challenges, and contribute to a positive and respectful shop culture.
Requirements
- Physical capability: Comfortably able to pull a 70lb draw weight.
- Technical specialist: Hands-on experience with bows, including installing accessories, timing cams, and precision tuning.
- Culture fit: Arrive early, bring high energy, and have a genuine desire to help others.
- Skills: Basic math and communication skills for sales and reporting.
- Physicality: This is a heavy work role requiring standing, walking, and occasional lifting up to 100 lbs.
- Education: High school diploma (or GED) and 1-3 months of related experience preferred.
- Age: Must be at least 18 years old.

Pay & Schedule
- Base hourly rate: $18.00/hr.
- Hours: Average of 15-20 hours per week.
- Schedule: Evening shifts from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM, with weekends required (Saturdays between 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM; Sundays 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM).
Pay & Schedule
- Compensation: Base hourly rate of $18.00/hr.
- Closing Date: The job opportunity will remain open until a qualified candidate is selected.
- Position Type: Long-term, not seasonal.
