Position Overview
As part of the talented Boston Whaler team, you will be responsible for repairs of fiberglass boat hulls, decks and small parts. They are key drivers of delivering a flawless product by using a variety of skills.
Essential Functions
- Repairs fiberglass boat hulls, decks, and small parts using spray gun with paint, buffer with wax, polish, compound, fillers, putty, and/or paste
- Use hand and pneumatic tools, buffer and abrasive sanding
- Understand and follow verbal and written directions
- Work with fellow coworkers in proximity and in a team environment displaying mutual respect
Required Qualifications
- Follow all safety and quality standards, including chemical handling standards and PPE (personal protective equipment)
- Understand the handling and application of solvents, paints, pastes, putty, and wax along with proper disposal
- Read and understand blueprints
- Use hand and pneumatic tools, buffer and abrasive sanding
Preferred Qualifications
- Two plus years of finishing in the marine industry
- Fiberglass repair and finishing experience
Working Conditions
- Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and toxic or caustic chemicals
- Noisy environment with moderate noise levels
Pay Range
The anticipated pay range for this position is $19.63-$30.39 hourly. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.
