Responsibilities
- Design and deliver instruction aligned with Louisiana K–12 Student Standards for Computer Science
- Develop engaging curriculum supporting graduation requirements and student progress
- Audit and assess student progress
- Create a safe and inclusive learning environment
- Incorporate cybersecurity, digital citizenship, and AI literacy into instruction
- Implement nationally recognized Computer Science standards
- Integrate ISTE-aligned practices promoting digital citizenship, computational thinking, and responsible technology use
- Ensure students develop skills for a technologically advanced world
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrated commitment to CSUSA's values
- Louisiana teaching certification and computer science certification for Computer Science I and II (when applicable)
- Strong technology proficiency and ongoing professional learning
- Previous experience in virtual teaching or online education environments
- Proficiency with educational technologies such as LMS, video conferencing tools, and online assessment platforms
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with parents in an online setting
- Skilled in using tools like Google Classroom, Jamboard, and Zoom
Skills
- Knowledge of computing systems, networks, algorithms, programming, and cybersecurity
- Ability to design standards-aligned instruction
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Proficiency with educational technology
