Responsibilities
- Travel to customers’ homes to diagnose and repair major gas and electric appliances (ovens, cooktops, refrigerators, etc.) to ensure effective repair and first-time resolution of all in-home customer repairs within an agreed region.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and rectify as required.
- Communicate clearly with customers and provide a positive service experience.
- Advise customers on the correct operation of their products to enable them to utilize the appliances correctly.
- Offer helpful customer solutions by soft-selling products, such as accessories, service plans, and maintenance plans (training will be provided).
- Maintain an up-to-date van stock of parts, in accordance with current van stock lists, and ensure parts are safeguarded from damage.
- Utilize B-apps (B-tooling, B-fixing, and B-informing) for paperwork and documentation.
- Ensure every job is completed with care, professionalism, and safety in mind.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent with 3-5 years’ experience with appliance repair, or transferable skills from electrical, HVAC, or mechanical trades.
- Organized with the ability to complete multiple service calls in a timely manner daily while providing high levels of customer service.
- Provide updates and progress to manager on service requests.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook.
- Solid diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, and proficient in basic math.
- Customer-first mindset and strong professional communication and written skills.
- Ability to explain repairs to customers in a logical manner.
- Must be a self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to maintain a company-provided vehicle; valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds or more.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $33.18 - $44.24 per hour, based on the location noted in the posting title. Exact compensation offered may vary based on your specific skillset and work location.
This position is eligible for the Service Tech Incentive Plan, with incentive payments ranging from 0% to 200% of target.
