Booth Security Clerk

About the role

Responsible for the physical security of Sheriff's Office locations. Positions available are part-time only: one at Headquarters in Bel Air working Saturday and Sunday on the midnight shift, and another at the Northern Precinct in Jarrettsville working Saturday and Sunday on day shift.

Responsibilities

• Maintain highly visible profile in the building to establish and maintain a safe working environment
• Ensure complete security of the building
• Provide information to the general public; complete walk-in citizen reports and telephone reports
• Perform routine clerical duties
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must possess a high school diploma or GED certificate recognized by the Maryland State Board of Education
• Must have a valid driver's license with no more than 3 points and no convictions for DUI
• Must pass comprehensive background investigation and criminal record check; medical exam and drug/alcohol screening; and polygraph exam
• Must provide handwriting sample for review
• Must appear before and receive favorable recommendation from Oral Interview Board
• Visible tattoos permitted if not offensive, indecent, extremist, racist, or sexist; no visible tattoos on the face or head
• Must possess a history and exhibit characteristics of honesty, reliability, integrity, and interpersonal skills
• Any criminal conviction(s) and/or arrest(s) may be grounds for disqualification

Pay

$23.39 per hour with opportunities for overtime, compensatory time, and shift differential.

Schedule
