Boom Truck Crane Operator
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure all work is performed according to safety standards with a focus on quality customer service
- Perform pre-trip and pre-operation inspections to ensure optimal performance and safety
- Transfer loads to jobsites
- Read and interpret load charts, blueprints, and lifting plans to determine appropriate lifting methods and procedures
- Communicate effectively with ground crew, signal persons, and other team members to coordinate lifting and placement tasks
- Operate crane to lift, maneuver, and place materials and equipment in designated location
- Troubleshoot and address any issues or malfunctions with crane equipment promptly, reporting any issues immediately
- Maintain detailed records of crane operations, including load weights, lifting times, and maintenance activities
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Proven experience operating cranes
- Thorough knowledge of crane mechanics, load charts, and safety procedures
- Able to read and interpret load charts, blueprints, and lifting plans
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a team
- Excellent problem solving skills and strong attention to detail
- Valid Class A CDL License
- Must be able to work in all outdoor weather conditions
- Certification as a Mobile Crane Operator through the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators
- Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 70 pounds of material
- Must be able to walk, bend, kneel, reach and climb
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and limited weekends
- Must be willing to travel as needed
- Must maintain a satisfactory background record
- Must be able to pass a drug test as required by transportation regulations
