Department Detail
- Purchases, receives, merchandises and sales inventory to customers providing excellent customer service, product knowledge and sales that meet the goals of the BGTC.
- Operates a Point of Sale (POS) system for transactions using, cash, check and credit cards.
- Lables and stocks merchandise in the store including artist/author owned product.
- Maintains safe, clean store and stockroom environments.
- Performs opening/closing/report procedures for cash registers needed for finance department.
- Assists with setting-up and serving guests during meet/greet events held in the store.
- Assists with yearly physical inventory
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Performs customer service with excellence in the store and on the phone.

Job Specifications
- Minimum high school education required, basic accounting and customer service experience required; retail experience preferred.
- Experience with or the capacity to utilize Microsoft Office, with focus on Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Able to learn the POS software system used for transactions, reports and inventory research.
- Able to receive payments or process refunds using cash, checks and credit cards.
- Able to communicate verbally and in written form with staff of all levels, as well as guests.
- Maintain confidentiality when needed.
- Commitment to hospitality and excellence providing attention to detail while displaying a positive attitude toward others.
- Able to relate to people well, being approachable, as well as have the ability to manage administrative tasks simultaneously.
- Self-motivated to manage time well and complete tasks efficiently while working independently without direct supervision.
- Must be dependable to work hours scheduled including flexible/variable hours when needed.
- Able to complete multiple tasks in a timely manner with attention to detail while handling frequent interruptions.
- Able to lift moderate weight up to 30 pounds without assistance.
- Able to move easily from place to place with full range of motion, and sit or stand for extended periods of time.
- Able to use a ladder/step stool and push a cart.
Physical/Mental Demands
- Dependable to work hours scheduled including flexible/variable hours when needed.
- Able to complete multiple tasks in a timely manner with attention to detail while handling frequent interruptions.
- Able to lift moderate weight up to 30 pounds without assistance.

- Understand that I must exhibit conduct that is consistent with BGEA’s expectations, whether at work or away from work, in keeping with scriptural teachings and principles as set forth in God’s Word, BGEA’s Statement of Faith, and BGEA’s policies including Christian Conduct.
- Understand that BGEA has the right and the responsibility to ensure that its Christian religious purpose is carried on with the highest standards and is not harmed or impeded by conduct that is inconsistent with the Bible, BGEA’s Statement of Faith, its Christian religious purpose, or its policies.
- Understand that any of my conduct which is not in keeping with the scriptural teachings and principles as set forth in God’s Word, BGEA’s Statement of Faith, and BGEA’s policies, is inconsistent with BGEA’s Christian religious purpose.
- Understand that if my conduct is determined by BGEA to be inconsistent with its Christian religious purpose, the result will be corrective action up to and including termination from employment.
Benefits Summary
- Associate or Seasonal employees may work up to 19 hours a week (not to exceed 1000 hours a year (calendar/sequential)).
