Position Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Proficient in handling money, bookkeeping, accounting, inventory, and operation of point-of-sale (POS) system
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of basic office procedures and operation of office machines/equipment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Possesses keyboard and word processing skills
- Bilingual (English-Spanish) preferred
Position Responsibilities
- Receives receipts, accounts, and deposits all local funds generated through revenue from books, miscellaneous supplies, cafeteria items/lunches, sports, student activity funds, student fees, tuition.
- Disburses book refunds.
- Orders all books and miscellaneous bookstore supplies for the school.
- Maintains an accurate inventory of all books and miscellaneous supplies.
- Prices and barcodes all books and miscellaneous supplies.
- Maintains accurate records of loaned books.
- Collaborates with the business office on all deposits.
- Sells beanies, P.E. uniforms and locks and maintains the combination records, etc.
- Travels to and makes daily bank deposits.
- Processes student fees and fee waivers.
- Registers and accepts payments for drivers education behind-the-wheel students.
- Performs any other related duties when requested by the Assistant Principal for Instruction.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- While performing duties of job, employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
- Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.
Terms of Employment
- 12-month work year;
- Starting wage between $18.50 - $20.35/hour, based on education and verified experience;
- Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) pension;
