About the Role

As a Bookseller at Barnes & Noble, you are an integral part of the bookselling team, welcoming customers, answering questions, and connecting readers with the right titles and products. You also play a crucial role in maintaining the store's presentation and efficient operation.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers in a cheerful and helpful manner.
• Assist customers in finding books and products, using knowledge, colleagues, and available tools.
• Operate registers quickly and efficiently to provide professional service.
• Unpack and shelve deliveries, maintaining store cleanliness and organization.
• Support the café team when needed.
• Understand and apply loss prevention procedures and de-escalation techniques.
• Develop and maintain book knowledge across various categories, making effective recommendations.
• Support key sales objectives, such as Monthly Picks, Book of the Year, and Membership.
• Build expertise in other product areas like Educational Toys, Games, and Newsstand.
