A Barnes & Noble bookstore is a gathering place for readers and the community. As a Bookseller, you are an integral member of the bookselling team at the heart of our stores. You welcome customers in a cheerful and helpful way by saying hello, answering questions, and consistently going out of your way to connect readers with the right titles and products.
About the role
- Welcome customers cheerfully and helpfully.
- Maintain the attractive presentation of the store and ensure its efficient running.
- Unpack and shelve deliveries.
- Work registers in a quick and friendly manner.
- Help the café team when needed.
- Support the bookstore team in maintaining the store's cleanliness and order.
- Master the operational competencies of a Barnes & Noble bookseller, including:
- Using various technology, including registers, computers, tablets, programs, and other tools.
- Developing strong merchandising and visual merchandising skills.
- Running a register competently.
- Supporting the receiving and unpacking of deliveries.
- Finding books and other products with ease and accuracy.
- Understanding loss prevention procedures and de-escalation techniques.
- Engage in physical activities including prolonged standing, repetitive bending, lifting, and walking.
