About the role
Book Processing Techs perform a core group of tasks, including processing and picking books. They apply various products to books according to detailed library specifications and pick books from warehouse shelves. Scheduled hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with overtime available or required on a week-to-week basis. This position is located onsite at our office in Contoocook, NH.
Responsibilities
- Apply barcodes, theft detection devices, stamps, date dues, and similar products to books.
- Pick books from warehouse shelves.
- Meet or exceed quality and productivity standards to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Use a computer and scanner to enter barcode data and operate other essential computer-based programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including work outside the department as business conditions require.
Physical Demands
- Remain and perform tasks at an assigned workstation.
- Constantly push carts full of books to and from work areas and within the warehouse.
- Constantly use hands and fingers to operate a computer and apply products to books.
- Constantly pick books from racks low to the ground up to a height of 6 feet.
- Frequently communicate with leaders and trainers regarding instructions and processing of materials.
- Constantly move books weighing up to 5 pounds; frequently move books weighing up to 15 pounds; occasionally move books weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Frequently position self to retrieve and put away supplies, including under desks and shelves low to the ground.
- Closely inspect products to ensure quality of work.
- Work in a production environment with concrete floors.
- Constant exposure to computers, monitors, and barcode scanners.
Requirements
- High school graduate or GED.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.

Pay
USD $31,660.00 - USD $45,230.00 per year. Starting at $17.50/hour.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with overtime available or required on a week-to-week basis.
