About the role

This position requires at least two years of experience working with a broad understanding of the detailed aspects of the job. The candidate will receive general supervision, and instructions are given for routine work while detailed instructions are given for new activities or special assignments. They are able to resolve routine questions and perform more advanced functions.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints.
• Lay out articles, cuts parts or materials to size and apply liquid or solid bonding agents.
• Understand ply orientations and vacuum bagging processes.
• Operate autoclave, hydraulic presses, and ovens to complete bonding cycle.
• Control conditions of heat, pressure, and timing by setting and operating various controls according to the specifications for the materials and the bonding agent being used.
• Sand, burs and smooth over areas, apply sealing resins to cut or exposed edges.
• Maintain and monitor quality of finished product.
• Complete repairs on composite, metal or laminate bonded products using inspection and rework instructions.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED with 2-years of relatable composite fabrication or bonding experience in manufacturing/production environment.
• Ability to obtain DoD Secret Security Clearance and special program access for advancements and opportunities.
• Must be able to access small, confined spaces and work in an enclosed environment.
• Able to work flexible, changing shifts, including weekends.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret Clearance with a background investigation completed within the last six years with the ability to obtain program access.
• Experience with structural subassemblies such as rudders, flaps and stabilizers.
