About the role

This position offers an opportunity to work on some of the most sophisticated private aircraft in the world. Duties can include removal and installation of carpeting, insulation, sound proofing and fabric accessories; varying amounts of parts replacement/repair, basic electrical system installation, modifications, refurbishments and general mechanical applications on aircraft interiors.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general mechanical items on aircraft interiors and related systems.
  • Perform minor modifications with minimal direction.
  • Perform daily turnover sheets, work order processes and weight and balance data.
  • Maintain cleanliness of shop and surroundings.
  • Communicate effectively (i.e., speak, write, read) in English.
  • Assist in major modification work as needed.

Requirements

  • A High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not required.
  • Self-motivated and able to perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliable transportation to get to work each and every day.
  • Work with others in a professional manner.
  • Plan and organize procedures and operations.
  • Read various reports and blueprints.

Qualifications

  • Understanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines including but not limited to OSHA, Hazmat, etc.
  • Lift and carry at least 50 lbs.
  • Routine walking, bending and squatting or sitting.
  • Routine routing or repetitive physical motion with arms and hands with emphasis on grasping, feeling and finger dexterity.
  • Standing for long periods of time.
  • Climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas.

Skills

  • Basic computer skills to be able to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases.
  • Basic electrical system installation.
  • General mechanical applications on aircraft interiors.

Locations & Lifestyle

The majority of work will be performed in a hangar or shop environment. Work outside on the ramp on occasion. Varied positions in and around the aircraft. Equipment used includes personal hand tools supplied by the mechanic, electrical power tools such as sanders, saws, power drills, etc., sheet metal cutters, glue guns, and metal benders, tugs, power carts and other engine-powered equipment, spray booths and all related equipment.
