Starting Rate

$36.40/hour
Two pay increases in the first year up to $1.00

Safety Protocol

• Stop any observed unsafe acts and obey facility safety rules and procedures
• Correct or report any observed safety hazards
• Support safety policies and programs

What We Are Looking For

• A High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Specialized vocational training in maintenance mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, machine shop, electricity, boiler operation and refrigeration or completed apprenticeship program required
• Minimum three (3) years of experience in boiler operations required
• Experience operating hand tools, power tools, machine tools (lathe, mill, etc.), welders, refrigeration and electrical test equipment required
• Experience distinguishing between sounds or vibrations for equipment repair required
• Strong mechanical aptitude, including pumps and steam generation required
• Experience performing mechanical and electrical troubleshooting required
• Experience reading blueprints and electrical schematics required
• Communicate well both verbally and in writing with managers and colleagues
• Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in work
• Able to follow written, verbal and diagrammatic instructions; complete simple checklists and complete required documentation
• Seek out and participate in appropriate training and professional development
• Basic math plus fractions, decimals and percentages, as well as algebraic calculations
• Able to use basic computer operational skills; able to input and retrieve computerized information
• Able to solve problems by adapting knowledge and experience
• Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others and works to maintain constructive working relationships

Qualifications

• Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec
