Boiler Operator Chief

About the role

Essentia Health operates a safe, reliable environment for patients and staff. The Boiler Operator Chief oversees the boiler plant for the medical campus, supervises a team of rotating shift boiler operators, performs maintenance, and responds to alarms or emergency repair requests.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the boiler plant for the medical campus.
• Dispatch maintenance engineers for building automation system alarms regarding HVAC systems, fire safety systems, emergency generators, and patient care equipment.
• Maintain and perform checks regarding hot water boilers around campus.
• Respond to emergency repair requests and carry out additional responsibilities as delegated.

Requirements

• Minnesota Chief B boilers license or greater.
• Meet the driving requirements and criteria acceptable to Essentia Health’s insurer.

Skills

• Knowledge of boiler operation and maintenance.

Pay

$34.67 - $42.74 / hour

Schedule

Day/Eve/Night Rotation at Building B - St Marys Medical Center, with hours per pay period: 80.
