About the role
The Body Shop Technician is responsible for repairing vehicle bodies and frames, including steel, aluminum, and fiber glass repairs, ensuring safety, quality, and customer uptime.
Responsibilities
- Determines vehicle condition through inspections and diagnostic tests, identifying worn and damaged parts.
- Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems.
- Proficient in welding, cutting, plastic repair, fiber glass repair, and minor mechanical and electrical repair.
Qualifications and Experience
- High school diploma or GED.
- Related technical school training preferred.
- Minimum of two years experience (four or more preferred).
- ICAR certification preferred, not necessary.
- ASE certification preferred, not necessary.
- Necessary tools to perform job responsibilities.
- Ability to work and learn independently.
- Strong written/verbal communication skills.
- Ability to use various Windows based computer software.
- Valid commercial drivers license preferred, not necessary.
Physical and Environmental Conditions
- Exposure to dirt, dust, heat, cold, noise and vibration, fumes and odors, wetness and humidity, darkness.
- Stand, walk, kneel, squat, crawl, bend, and twist.
- May have to climb and/or lift up to and over 80 pounds frequently.
- Visual requirements are constant. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- Exposed to potential mechanical, chemical, electrical and fire hazards on a regular basis.
