Body Shop Technician

Responsibilities

• Determine and repair damaged parts
• Communicate status of repairs clearly to General Manager
• Communicate with parts department to obtain necessary parts
• Document all repairs performed
• Document all materials used
• Maintain work area in a clean and orderly manner
• Follow all company safety procedures
• Understand and follow federal, state, and local regulations such as the disposal of hazardous waste
• Repair vehicle body, including hammering out minor dents, windshield replacement, painting of panels, paint correction, and complete rebuilds
• Perform body customization or minor repairs, such as buffing out scratches or refurbishing corrosion damage

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 5+ years of body work experience required
• Experience with collision repair and vehicle body work
• Experience with body filler, sanding, and surface preparation
• Experience with body preparation, painting, sanding, and clear coating required
• Familiarity with structural and non-structural repairs
• Ability to properly disassemble and reassemble vehicles
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Clean driving record and valid driver’s license
• Must be able to supply your own tools (supplies will be provided)
