Responsibilities
- Vehicle Repairs:
- Perform a range of body repairs, including dent removal, panel replacement, frame straightening, and paint preparation.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to carry out repairs accurately and efficiently.
- Follow manufacturer specifications and repair procedures to ensure high-quality workmanship.
- Conduct inspections and assessments to identify additional repair needs or hidden damages.
- Paint and Refinish:
- Prepare surfaces for painting by sanding, masking, and applying primer.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Cookordination with the body shop estimator, parts department, and other team members to ensure smooth workflow.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and customers regarding repair progress and timelines.
- Provide input and assistance to other technicians as needed.
- Safety and Quality Control:
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Perform quality control checks to ensure repairs meet industry standards and customer expectations.
- Keep up to date with industry advancements and techniques to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Documentation and Recordkeeping:
- Complete repair orders and accurately document all repairs performed.
- Record parts usage, labor hours, and other relevant information for billing and documentation purposes.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Previous experience as an automotive body shop technician or a related role is required.
- Strong technical skills in body repairs.
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.
- Attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate effectively.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and adherence to safety guidelines.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual labor and work in various positions.
