Body Journeyman

About the role

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America’s largest Kenworth truck dealership and leasing group. As MHC continues to grow, we have an opening for a Body Journeyman. This is a safety-sensitive position in which a lapse of attention could result in injury, illness, or death, including operating, repairing, maintaining, or monitoring heavy equipment, machinery, or motor vehicles, or handling hazardous materials and waste.

The Body Journeyman performs all functions of a fully qualified heavy-duty truck repair Bodyman under minimal supervision, including skilled and complicated body work on heavy-duty truck equipment and related components. Responsibilities include troubleshooting major problems, training apprentice Bodymen, maintaining a neat and orderly work area, and advising the Shop Foreman if additional repair work is necessary. The role also involves maintaining favorable customer relations and performing other duties as assigned by a supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled and complicated body work on heavy-duty truck equipment and related components with minimal supervision.
• Troubleshoot major problems on heavy-duty trucks.
• Train and assist apprentice Bodymen.
• Maintain a neat and orderly working area and handle company tools properly.
• Advise the Shop Foreman if additional repair work is necessary.
• Maintain favorable relations with customers.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

• Minimum of five years of experience in truck body repair or other applied body repair service.
• Positive, can-do attitude.
• Possess necessary tools required to perform position responsibilities.
• CDL preferred.
