Responsibilities

  • Lead the electrical hardware design for all body electronics modules, sensors, and actuators, overseeing the entire lifecycle from initial concept through virtual development, rigorous testing, sign-off, and manufacturing launch for innovative vehicle platforms.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop precise technical specifications that support the quoting and sourcing processes.
  • Partner with external suppliers and internal design and release engineers to ensure the successful release of all relevant body electronics components.
  • Contribute to a diverse and collaborative team culture, fostering continuous learning and professional growth among colleagues.
  • Execute comprehensive virtual and physical verification testing, including critical field testing.
  • Actively participate in advanced engineering activities such as DFMEA, ISO 26262, and Worst Case Circuit Analysis, upholding the highest engineering standards for all components under your purview.
  • Guarantee that all designs strictly adhere to safety standards and government regulations.
  • Proactively monitor consumer experience and propose system improvements to enhance user satisfaction.
  • Contribute to the design and optimization of production facilities for innovative vehicles.
  • Efficiently manage supplier relationships and resources to ensure components and systems meet stringent cost, timing, and quality objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, combined electrical/mechanical engineering, systems engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in body electrical and/or electromechanical systems, specifically within relevant automotive assignments. This experience should span all phases of product development, including design, testing, and launch.
  • Demonstrated strong technical skills and expertise in body control systems, coupled with a proven ability to apply a Six Sigma approach to engineering design and problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with computer-aided engineering (CAE) or direct practical experience in this domain.
  • Exceptional ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with individuals across all organizational levels.
