About the role
We are seeking a seasoned BOD “Basis of Design” Engineer with deep experience in semiconductor tool integration and facilities design. This engineer will partner closely with Equipment Engineering (EE) Tool Owners to gather important design information for new tool installs, walk tools onsite, assess demolition and upgrade requirements, and help define how existing infrastructure will be replaced or modified for upgrades.
This role is critical to the creation of Facilities Data Sheets (FDS) and involves assisting design in validating point-of-use (POU) utility connections, ensuring line length distances meet spec, and confirming proper sizing for regulators and flow/pressure parameters. The engineer will interpret and adapt supplier design documentation to meet site-specific configuration needs, using 2D design tools.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Equipment Engineering (EE) Tool Owners to gather design information for new tool installs.
- Conduct onsite tool walkdowns to assess demolition and upgrade requirements.
- Define how existing infrastructure will be replaced or modified for upgrades.
- Create and validate Facilities Data Sheets (FDS).
- Assist in validating point-of-use (POU) utility connections, line length distances, and proper sizing for regulators and flow/pressure parameters.
- Interpret and adapt supplier design documentation to meet site-specific configuration needs using 2D design tools.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in semiconductor facility or tool install engineering.
- Strong design background with direct tool walkdown experience.
- Ability to work with EE Tool Owners to define demo and upgrade scopes.
- Proficiency in validating flow rates, pressure drops, and regulator sizing.
- Experience reviewing and verifying POU utilities and line length specs before FDS creation.
- Skilled in interpreting supplier documentation and translating it to site-specific requirements.
- Proficient with 2D design tools used to generate Facilities Data Sheets (FDS).
Preferences
- Experience in high-volume manufacturing or fab environments.
- Familiarity with semiconductor facility systems and tool hook-up processes.
- Understanding of construction coordination and tool install timelines.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD or similar 2D CAD software.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams (Facilities, EHS, Tool Install, etc.).
Physical Effort/Activities
- May be required to walk up to 5+ miles per day.
- Able to be on feet for 8-10 hours at a time.
- Ability to bend, twist, push/pull, crouch, kneel in confined spaces.
- Work at heights, on a ladder, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Pay
$50.00/hr. to $70.00/hr.
Schedule
Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

This position is located in Malta, NY and is open to out-of-state travelers. It is a full-time role and not eligible for visa sponsorship.
