About the role
The Watercraft Maintenance Technician (WMT) position supports the C Company Support Battalion, 1st Special Warfare Training Group (A) at the Special Forces Underwater Operations (SFUWO) facility in Key West, FL. This role is critical in maintaining and supporting a diverse fleet of watercraft and associated equipment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the Zodiac F470 Combat Rubber Raiding Craft and all echelons of maintenance as mandated by OPNAV Instruction 4790 and using SKED for the combat rubber raiding craft.
- Repair holes, cuts, and tears, replace transom and baffles, and maintain hard and soft floors of the boats.
- Maintain all diver dry suits.
- Perform maintenance on all types of boats and outboard motors.
- Assist with the issue, return/turn-in, storage, inventory, calibration, maintenance, and repairs of all mission equipment, support equipment, tools, dive gear, and test equipment.
- Monitor the calibration schedule and report material deficiencies and completed maintenance actions.
- Maintain detailed logs and forms such as Re-entry Control (REC) Logs and Failure Analysis or Inadequacy Report (FAIR) forms.
- Ensure proper testing and inspection of work done by outside activities.
- Operate a standalone computer and be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Have strong organizational skills and be able to work independently.
- Be familiar with AR 25-50 and write correspondence in a military format when necessary.

- A valid, unencumbered, state driver’s license.

- Detailed and accurate performance in all functions.
- Familiarity with AR 25-50.
Qualifications
- Skills and qualifications to maintain all types of boats and outboard motors.
- Knowledge of OPNAV Instruction 4790 and SKED for the combat rubber raiding craft.
- Experience with preventive maintenance checks and services (PMCS).
- Ability to write correspondence in a military format when necessary.
Skills
