Boat Delivery Specialist

About the role

The Boat Delivery Specialist is responsible for loading, delivering, and setting up motor homes, trailers, and boats for customers within a 200-mile radius. Duties include moving units between store locations, hooking and unhooking trailers, completing setup at destinations, and providing professional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Pick up and deliver trailers and boats to and from requested locations
• Complete setup of boats and trailers at destination
• Load all supplies needed for setting up units
• Pick up and deliver boats to/from customer’s homes, marinas, and docks
• Utilize navigation and route-optimization tools to maximize efficiency
• Maintain organization of units on store lots
• Provide professional and friendly customer service
• Perform and record pre-trip and post-trip inspections, fueling, cleaning, and minor repairs
• Perform light routine maintenance on company vehicles
• Maintain safety protocols and observe traffic rules

Qualifications

• High school diploma
• Driver’s license, clear of major infractions, and approved by insurance company
• Class B CDL/Class A CDL with Air Brake endorsement preferred
• Experience towing and delivering boats and personal watercraft
• Knowledge of basic hand and power tools
• Understanding of hitching, backing, and maneuvering boat trailers
• Basic troubleshooting skills for marine craft
• Proficiency in securing heavy loads and tying down loose items
• Awareness of lake/river conditions
• Ability to drive up to 3 hours at a time, including Poughkeepsie, Plattsburgh, and the Finger Lake Region
• Flexibility to work Saturdays

• Ability to interpret and follow verbal and written guidelines

• Physical strength and endurance to lift up to 50 pounds frequently
• Exposure to outside adverse environmental conditions

Benefits

Seasonal, full-time equivalent (FTE) position with competitive pay ranging from $19 to $21 per hour.

Schedule

Monday-Saturday, 20-30 hours/week. Must be flexible.
