The Board Operator will support the production and delivery of engaging audio content in a fast-paced broadcast environment. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing live programming operations, ensuring smooth execution of shows, commercials, and station elements.
- Collaborating with hosts, producers, and programming teams to bring creative ideas and timely content to audiences.
- Operating the broadcast control board while following station formats, program schedules, and commercial logs.
- Arranging and playing commercials, station IDs, and other broadcast elements accurately.
- Screens listener calls during live call-in programs and supports audience engagement.
- Researching current events and broadcast topics while contributing creative ideas for programming content.
- Cooking up guest schedules and supporting live interviews.
- Producing and executing live station events and remote broadcasts.
- Supporting social media updates, website content, and digital engagement initiatives.
- Recording news, weather, and traffic segments for broadcast use.
- Edit audio and video clips for on-air and digital platforms.
- Following all applicable broadcasting regulations and internal operating procedures.
The role requires strong attention to detail, technical awareness, and collaboration with internal teams. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment with live content.
Requirements
- An interest in broadcasting and strong organizational skills.
- Experience in radio, audio production, or related media roles is preferred.
- Knowledge of current events, news, sports, and entertainment topics.
- Previous experience in radio, broadcasting, production, or media operations is a plus.
- Familiarity with audio and video editing tools, including Adobe Audition and Premiere Pro.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in a live broadcast setting.
- Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with hosts and production teams.
- A valid driver’s license and ability to meet driving requirements when applicable.
