Good Works Hub Board Member Position Help shape communities in Central Florida and the Bahamas. Good Works Hub is seeking passionate, mission-driven leaders to serve as Board Members. This is an exciting opportunity to help establish and grow an innovative nonprofit dedicated to strengthening communities by connecting people, organizations, businesses, and local government through faith, volunteerism, collaboration, and civic innovation. As a board member, you will play a key role in shaping the organization’s strategic direction, governance, sustainability, and long-term impact. About Good Works Hub Vision Statement "Help cultivate happy, healthy, wholesome communities; that are resilient,resourceful and equitable." Mission Statement"Do good, seek justice, defend the oppressed; and assist orphans and widows." Foundational Principles: The Mission and Vision Statements shall serve as the enduring guiding principles of the Corporation and shall inform the interpretation and application of the Bylaws. The Board of Directors shall endeavor to ensure that the programs, partnerships, and activities of the Corporation further its Mission and Vision. Purpose of Good Works Hub The Corporation is organized exclusively for charitable, educational, religious,scientific, and public benefit purposes permitted under the Florida Not For ProfitCorporation Act and Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or anysuccessor provisions thereto. The Corporation may pursue its Mission and Vision through programs, initiatives, partnerships, research, volunteer engagement, educational activities, community development initiatives, environmental stewardship efforts, charitable activities, and other lawful means that advance the public good. The Corporation may collaborate with individuals, nonprofit organizations, businesses, educational institutions, governmental entities, philanthropic organizations, and mission-aligned enterprises whose activities further the charitable purposes of the Corporation. Board Member Position Summary Volunteer Board Members provide strategic leadership, governance, and oversight to support the mission and sustainability of Good Works Hub. Board members serve as ambassadors for the organization, contribute their professional expertise, participate in key decisions, and help cultivate partnerships and resources that advance our work. This is a volunteer leadership position and an opportunity to become part of the organization’s founding team. Board Member Responsibilities Board Members are expected to:* Attend regular board meetings and actively participate in discussions and decision-making.* Provide strategic guidance on organizational growth, governance, and long-termplanning.* Serve on at least one board committee or project team.* Act as an ambassador by promoting Good Works Hub within professional andcommunity networks.* Help identify partnership, sponsorship, fundraising, and grant opportunities.* Support organizational accountability through sound governance and ethicalleadership.* Review and approve organizational policies, budgets, and strategic priorities.* Contribute professional expertise to strengthen organizational capacity.* Participate in major events, including the Good Works Hub Volunteer Fair & Symposium and other signature initiatives. Time Commitment Estimated commitment includes: Approximately 8-12 hours per month.* Attendance at bi-monthly board meetings (transitioning to quarterly as the organizationmatures).* Attendance at major organizational events and occasional planning sessions.
