Responsibilities

• Communicate with insureds whose medical care or billing practices are under investigation by a licensing agency.
• Determine whether the insurance policy covers the loss claimed.
• Select and coordinate with legal counsel.
• Manage cases with outside counsel, documenting case development and disposition.
• Manage litigation costs, including fees and expenses.
• Post reserves.
• Communicate with Underwriting regarding the nature of the dispute.
• Perform other activities required of a front‑line claims professional.

Qualifications

• 1 to 5 years of claims experience, preferably in professional liability.
• Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
• Paralegal experience with professional liability exposure is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills and interest in identifying insurance coverage issues.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
• High attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage conflict confidently.

Pay

The annual gross base salary range is $60,000 to $100,000, reflecting the low and high ends for this position. Actual salaries vary based on qualifications, skills, and competencies.
