Responsibilities
- Tailored patient care including diagnosis, treatment, and management of various medical conditions.
- Perform surgeries under the supervision of licensed veterinarians.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians.
- Conduct diagnostic tests such as blood work and imaging to aid in patient care.
- Provide pre- and post-operative care for surgical patients.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Document patient care activities and maintain accurate records.
Requirements
- A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an AVMA-accredited institution.
- Current licensure to practice veterinary medicine in North Carolina.
- Experience in small animal medicine and surgery is preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications
- Passing scores on the North Carolina State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners examination.
- Completion of a residency program in internal medicine, cardiology, oncology, or rehabilitation/pain management is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of electronic health record systems.
