Board-Certified or Board Eligible Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon

Responsibilities

• Tailored patient care including diagnosis, treatment, and management of various medical conditions.
• Perform surgeries under the supervision of licensed veterinarians.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians.
• Conduct diagnostic tests such as blood work and imaging to aid in patient care.
• Provide pre- and post-operative care for surgical patients.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Document patient care activities and maintain accurate records.

Requirements

• A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an AVMA-accredited institution.
• Current licensure to practice veterinary medicine in North Carolina.
• Experience in small animal medicine and surgery is preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Passing scores on the North Carolina State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners examination.
• Completion of a residency program in internal medicine, cardiology, oncology, or rehabilitation/pain management is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of electronic health record systems.
