Board-Certified Music Therapist

Harmony Creative Therapy is seeking a Board Certified Music Therapist to join our team of professionals starting August or September of 2026. The role involves working with clients primarily aged 3 to 21 years old across the greater Rochester, NY and Finger Lakes areas.

About the role

The therapist will schedule their caseload, travel to assigned locations, and conduct individual and group sessions. Strong skills in guitar and piano accompaniment, singing, clinical insight, creative thinking, and collaboration with diverse teams are essential. Excellent writing skills are required for documenting progress and communicating with client teams.

Responsibilities

• Schedule caseload and travel to assigned locations
• Conduct individual and group music therapy sessions
• Document thorough session notes and annual review reports
• Attend team and staff meetings
• Consult with families and treatment teams as indicated
• Work with clients aged 5 to 21 years old
• Receive weekly supervision assistance
• Travel between locations throughout the day (reliable transportation required)

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Music Therapy from an AMTA-accredited program
• Board Certification through the Certification Board of Music Therapists (CBMT) (or intent to take the exam within 6 months of employment)
• Additional licensure as a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist in NY is a plus

Pay

$43,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year (full-time 10-month salary based on experience; summer coverage is additional pay)
