Mission

The BCBA demonstrates knowledge and skill in providing behavior analytic services and behavior management plans for students receiving Special Education services (K-18+).

Supervisory Responsibilities

None

Essential Duties

  • Demonstrate knowledge of and aid in the development, completion, and monitoring of behavior supports for Special Education Services as per State and Federal Guidelines.
  • Supports Special Education teachers, School Psychologists, Educational Diagnosticians, and other regional special education staff in developing Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) that yield strong Behavior Intervention Plans that meet district guidelines.
  • Supports Special Education teachers, School Psychologists, Educational Diagnosticians, and other regional/campus special education staff with implementing the behavior continuum of services.
  • Consult on high need behavior concerns.
  • Design, implement, and oversee trainings for school staff and families in the areas of Applied Behavior Analysis.
  • Follows correct procedures for maintaining records and services that meet both federal and board requirements.
  • In-field coaching of regional and campus staff using Behavior Skills Training (BST) to build capacity in application of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) skills.
  • Support regionally to ensure services are provided and tracked in adherence to state and federal standards (in the areas of behavior).

Additional Skills

  • Proficiency with Office 365 suite.

Experience

  • Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees required in Applied Behavior Analysis or related fields preferred (i.e. Special Education or Psychology).
  • Achieved Verified Course Sequence (VCS) in Applied Behavior Analysis.
  • Active BCBA® certification in good standing with the Behavior Analytic Certification Board (BACB®), Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) in Texas or other applicable state licensure.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Minimum 2-3 years experience supporting students with disabilities.
  • At least 1 year experience as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.

Physical Requirements

  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Lifting items weighing 40lbs or less.
  • Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, running, and climbing stairs.

  • Compensation & Benefits: Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $78,900 and $92,000, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity.
  • This role is also eligible for performance pay based on organizational performance and goal attainment.
