Board Certified Behavior Analyst

About the role

Breakthrough Public Schools (BPS) is seeking a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to join our Woodland Hills campus in their Multi-Intensive Autism Center. The BCBA will provide ABA programming to students throughout the school day, oversee the integrity of programming and all service activities for assigned students, participate in educational team meetings, assist in determining IEP goals, and develop Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) as needed. The BCBA will also provide coaching to Behavior Technicians (BTs) and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), and RBT supervision in accordance with BACB guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Support the school's mission, philosophies, values, goals, and policies toward students, parents/guardians, and coworkers.
• Conduct continuous assessments of students' skills and needs.
• Design and deliver developmentally appropriate ABA programming reflecting assessments and individual student goals.
• Collect data and maintain accurate data collection systems.
• Work with faculty and school leadership to frequently examine student data for ongoing refinement of assessment and programming.
• Establish a classroom culture of high expectations for all students in the center.
• Facilitate regular parent/guardian communications and conferences to discuss student progress.
• Ensure the safety of students and proper utilization of de-escalation strategies when needed.
• Collaborate with Compliance Managers on IEP development and process.
• Keep the center environment organized, attractive, and safe.
• Provide targeted small group and individual programming to help students achieve their IEP goals.
• Implement a range of antecedent and consequence strategies to meet the needs of all learners in the center.
• Provide coaching and training to BTs and RBTs on program modalities and interventions.
• Provide RBT supervision in accordance with BACB guidelines.
• Keep accurate and organized records of student information.
• Actively engage in identity work and necessary conversations to dismantle white supremacy culture.

Requirements

• Master’s degree (required); Psychology, Education, Special Education, or related field (preferred).
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
• Experience in a school setting (required).
• Experience utilizing technology in an instructional environment.
• Experience with ABA programming and behavior intervention plans (BIP).
• Experience coaching and supervising BTs and RBTs.
• Experience engaging in cultural humility and self-reflection.
• BCBA and COBA certification in good standing (required).
• Able to supervise RBTs (completed 8-hour BACB supervision training, required).

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Performs work in an office setting with moderate levels of noise, sitting for long periods of time, repetitive motion using computers and phones, and exposure to fluorescent lighting.
