Board Certified Behavior Analyst

Per diem position with schedule and location varying based on client needs. Start date is as soon as possible.

About the Role

As a Per Diem Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), you will obtain and maintain one or more cases, ensuring all approved hours of authorization are met. You will be responsible for comprehensive case management, treatment planning, and supervision of ABA therapists and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs).

Responsibilities

• Reach out to the family of every new case within 3 business days.
• Interview staff and/or family members to gather background and preliminary information before developing the treatment plan.
• Manage all case requirements, including call-ins, peer reviews, editing treatment plans, reformatting templates, form processing, and obtaining signatures.
• Conduct initial assessments and periodic 3- or 6-month re-assessments, submitting them by assigned due dates.
• Ensure the completed treatment plan addresses the function of problem behaviors and defines all target behaviors in objective, measurable terms.
• Integrate setting events, antecedent, teaching, and consequence strategies to reduce problem behaviors and increase alternative replacement behaviors.
• Directly observe the patient in all relevant settings and analyze data to determine the function of problem behaviors.
• Provide descriptive monthly progress notes, detailing where, when, and why problem behaviors occur.
• Train staff and family members on implementing the treatment plan, allowing time for questions and discussion.
• Oversee parent training, ABA therapist supervision, and treatment planning/Behavior Technician Manager (BTM) services for each case.
• Record all session notes in the Provider Portal and finalize monthly notes before deadlines; ensure all billing and dates are finalized prior to deadlines.
• Maintain open communication via phone, text, and email with all teams and the client’s team (guardians, schools, daycare) for Coordination of Care.
• Adhere to carrier-based templates, guidelines (ratios, code usage, limitations, and data), and deadlines to avoid gaps in authorization.
• Review patients’ behavior data for discrepancies, such as lack of documentation, inappropriate restrictions, or improper consequences, and address situations where the current behavior program or treatment approach was not followed.
• Verify the accuracy of reports, including time, date, and signatures.
• Analyze potential barriers to implementation or modify the treatment plan if substantial progress toward goals is not achieved within 90 days.
• Remain flexible and accommodating to company updates in policies, procedures, and work-related expectations.
• Uphold Applied ABC’s core principles, providing the best possible clinical techniques with a holistic and individualized approach to achieve ideal clinical outcomes.
• Demonstrate effective communication skills when working with a variety of team members.
• Supervise Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts (BCaBAs) and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) when applicable.
• Comply with all rules and regulations set forth by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
• Maintain quality standards regarding HIPAA compliance.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, education, or a related field (required).
• Active Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification; passed the BACB exam for behavior analysts (required).
• Current 8-hour supervision certificate, certified to provide supervision to RBTs, and supervisory experience (required).
• Experience utilizing behavioral skills training.
• Experience working with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, of all ages.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work in the U.S.

Pay

$70–$80 hourly.
