Board Certified Behavior Analyst

About the Role

• Per Diem BCBA position with setting and location varying based on client needs
• Start date: ASAP

Responsibilities

• Obtain and maintain 1+ case(s) and meet all approved hours of the authorization
• Reach out to the family of every new case received within 3 business days
• Interview staff and/or family members who know the patient before developing the treatment plan to gather necessary background and preliminary information
• Tend to all case requirement needs including but not limited to call-ins, peer reviews, editing treatment plans, reformatting templates, form processing, and signatures
• Conduct initial assessments and periodic 3- or 6-month re-assessments promptly, submitting them by the assigned due date
• Ensure the completed treatment plan addresses the function of problem behaviors
• Define all target behaviors in objective and measurable terms and add them to the treatment plan
• Integrate proper setting event, antecedent, teaching, and consequence strategies to reduce problem behavior and increase alternative replacement behaviors
• Directly see the patient in all relevant settings
• Analyze data to determine the function of problem behavior
• Describe where, when, and why problem behaviors occur while supplying descriptive monthly progress notes
• Train staff and family members directly, allowing time for questions and discussion about treatment plan implementation
• Assume responsibility for parent training, ABA therapist supervision, and treatment planning/BTM services for each case
• Record all session notes in the Provider Portal and finalize monthly notes on or before given deadlines (all billing and data to be finalized prior to/before deadlines set forth)
• Maintain open lines and chains of communication via phone call, text, and email with all teams and client's team (guardians, schools, daycare in the form of Coordination of Care)
• Adhere to carrier-based templates and guidelines (ratios, code usage, limitations, and data)
• Adhere to deadlines and due dates to allow for continuation of care (avoidance of gaps in authorization)
• Review patients' behavior data and note any discrepancies (e.g., lack of documentation, inappropriate restrictions, or lack of proper consequences) and situations where the current behavior program or treatment approach were not followed appropriately
• Check each report to ensure time, date, and signatures are correct
• If the intervention has not produced substantial progress toward the intended goal within 90 days, analyze potential barriers to implementation and/or change the treatment plan if necessary
• Hold the ability to be flexible and accommodating for company updates in changes to policies, procedures, and work-related expectations
• Uphold the organization's core principles of providing the best possible clinical techniques with a holistic and individualized approach to achieve ideal clinical outcomes
• Demonstrate effective communication skills in working with a variety of team members
• Supervise BCaBAs and RBTs when applicable
• Comply with all rules and regulations set forth by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board, Inc.
• Maintain quality standards in regard to HIPAA compliance

Qualifications

• Experience working with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, of all ages
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
• Ability to work in the US
• Active Board certification - passed the BACB exam for behavior analysts (BCBA certification)
• Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Education, or related field
• Current 8-hour supervision certificate - certified to provide supervision to RBTs with supervisory experience
• Experience utilizing behavioral skills training
