BNA FT Air Traffic Control Instructor-II

About the role

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality training to a diverse group of students, including developmental air traffic controllers and Certified Professional Controllers (CPCs).

Responsibilities

• Mentoring for students and Remote Pilot Operators (RPO)
• Participating in curriculum design and development
• Delivering classroom and simulation laboratory training
• Maintaining radar and/or non-radar simulation laboratory certifications
• Ensuring training meets the needs of the local facility and the FAA's overall Air Traffic Control mission

Requirements

• US Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
• Minimum of five (5) years of FAA CPC experience controlling live traffic, or recent experience as a contract Instructor at an FAA facility
• Operational experience with ATC simulators including scenario design
• Demonstrated ability to interface effectively with FAA personnel
• Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Certified Professional Controller (CPC) certification

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

Skills

• Direct experience as a Certified Professional Controller (CPC) at the Nashville ATCT / TRACON (BNA) preferred but not required
• Operational experience with ATC simulators including scenario design
• Demonstrated ability to interface effectively with FAA personnel
• Excellent teaching and/or platform skills, classroom management techniques, and a student-focused drive for continuous improvement
