BMT Clinical Pharmacy Specialist - Inpatient/Outpatient
About the role
Community Health Network MD Anderson Cancer Center is looking for a clinically trained pharmacist to join our growing team. This position includes providing patient care in both the inpatient and outpatient settings on a rotating basis. Serving as the subject matter expert, the clinical specialist will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to implement and maintain clinical pharmacy services for the cellular therapy program. Beyond patient care, the pharmacist will play a significant role in the development of treatment and supportive care protocols and network policies. Additional career development opportunities include participation in disease-specific tumor boards, involvement in research/clinical trials, and precepting students and residents.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care in inpatient and outpatient settings
- Serve as subject matter expert for the cellular therapy program
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to implement and maintain clinical pharmacy services
- Develop treatment and supportive care protocols and network policies
- Participate in disease-specific tumor boards
- Engage in research and clinical trials
- Precept students and residents
- Communicate effectively with patients, staff, physicians, and visitors
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate patient care
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited college of pharmacy (Bachelor or PharmD; Doctorate degree)
- Indiana Pharmacist license
- Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP) preferred
- Successfully completed PGY1 Pharmacy Residency and PGY2 Pharmacy Residency in Oncology preferred
