BMT Clinical Pharmacy Specialist- Inpatient/Outpatient

About the role

Community Health Network MD Anderson Cancer Center is looking for a clinically trained pharmacist to join our growing team. This position includes providing patient care in both the inpatient and outpatient settings, on a rotating basis. Serving as the subject matter expert, the clinical specialist will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to implement and maintain clinical pharmacy services for the cellular therapy program. Beyond patient care, the pharmacist will play a significant role in the development of treatment and supportive care protocols and network policies. Additional career development opportunities include participation in disease-specific tumor boards, involvement in research/clinical trials, and precepting students and residents.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in inpatient and outpatient settings
• Serve as the subject matter expert for clinical pharmacy services in the cellular therapy program
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to implement and maintain clinical pharmacy services
• Develop treatment and supportive care protocols and network policies
• Participate in disease-specific tumor boards
• Engage in research and clinical trials
• Precept students and residents

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited college of pharmacy (Bachelor or PharmD; Doctorate degree)
• Indiana Pharmacist license
• Ability to communicate tactfully and effectively with patients, staff, physicians, and visitors
• Demonstrated knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served

Qualifications

• Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP) preferred
• Successfully completed PGY1 Pharmacy Residency and PGY2 Pharmacy Residency in Oncology preferred
