Blood Bank Technologist - Full-Time - Evening Shift

About the Role

Perform, evaluate, and report technical tests on patient specimens for blood transfusions. Detect and report transfusion complications, complete thorough transfusion reaction investigations, and ensure compliance with quality control, regulatory standards, and safety protocols.

Access and process patient specimens, conduct pre-transfusion testing (ABO/Rh, antibody screening, crossmatch), and manage blood components including aliquoting, washing, irradiating, and pooling. Issue blood products accurately, verify patient and donor data, and maintain safety standards related to biological, chemical, and radiation hazards. Manage laboratory resources efficiently and report results promptly.

Requirements

• Associate's degree with a Clinical Lab Technologist License (Florida)
• Intermediate knowledge of laboratory procedures, instrumentation, and information systems
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and decision-making skills
• Ability to work independently, handle stressful situations, and maintain high accuracy
