Blending Operator Insight FS

About the role

Operates the fertilizer blending system and assists in plant production operations in coordination with the Plant Manager and Area Manager.

Responsibilities

• Creates fertilizer blends based on work orders provided by office and sales staff for general fertilizer products as well as pesticide combination products.
• Assists Plant Manager in scheduling tower production systematically to efficiently utilize company products, equipment, and personnel.
• Maintains and repairs all blending system equipment, including plant compressors and chemical application equipment.
• Coordinates repairs and rebuilds of all blending and packaging equipment as needed with the Plant Manager/Shop Operations Manager.
• Minimizes waste and provides advance notice to Plant Manager/Sales Manager when raw material inventory levels require attention.
• Loads and unloads products carefully to avoid spills.
• Utilizes computer applications as necessary to enhance business processes.
• Collects and maintains product samples according to guidelines for general fertilizer and pesticide combination products.
• Follows GROWMARK's Code of Conduct, Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA, and DOT policies and procedures.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, with 1 year or more of related work experience demonstrating knowledge of operating, maintenance, and repair of equipment, inventory management, production scheduling, and operation records.
• Ability to attain and maintain a Mixer Loader or Commercial Applicator's license.
• Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making, and skill development.

Working Conditions

• Noisy conditions.
• Working conditions may include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures.
• May be required to work at varying heights.
• Lift 51-70 lbs.
• Required to push heavy objects.
• Ability to work extended hours.
• Ability to travel independently.
