Blending Operator, 1st shift Weigh-ups
About the role
Your role will provide you the responsibility for your area of Production Weigher – Ensuring smooth running and troubleshooting problems. 5:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Responsibilities
- Weigh raw materials using scales and related equipment
- Conduct Quality checks as specified
- Read work order or formula to determine types and quantities of materials to weigh
- Record weight of materials used for production records
- Follow all Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and guidelines to ensure accurate information
- Dump materials in prescribed sequences into production equipment
- Sort weighted materials into designated bins and containers, according to weight or type and designate according to type of scale used or material weighed
- Transfer weighed materials to production or storage areas, using fork truck
- Exposure to hazardous materials
- Label ingredients accurately and complete corresponding paperwork
- Have general knowledge of ingredients being used
- Complete equipment and environment cleaning requirements
- Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and guidelines to maintain a clean & sanitary workplace
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and guidelines to maintain a clean & sanitary workplace
- Complete additional responsibilities as assigned by leadership
Requirements
- Physical ability to complete job duties
- Ability to stand for long periods (8-12) hours
- Lift, push or pull 100 lbs
- Working in varying temperature environments
- Able to bend, twist and complete repetitive motions
- Able to understand Kilogram scale
- Able to follow directions accurately
- Certified to operator a forklift
- Requires valid driver’s license
Qualifications
- A detail-oriented and reliable approach, with the drive to take the initiative and achieve high-quality results
- An aptitude for understanding and adhering to detailed manufacturing processes and safety protocols
- Work collaboratively with a team
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training or cross training
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Time management skills
- Basic Math; addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Basic Computer skills (Will interact with computer for all functions)
- Willing to learn new technology
- Ability to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed
