About the Role
This position involves mixing and blending pet care products in a safe and standardized way, ensuring each batch meets production manufacturing standards and adheres to Standard Operating Procedures for quality and accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Accurately measure, select, and blend ingredients to meet Perrigo’s product standards.
- Obtain all required paperwork for shifts, such as scale verification, batch blend, and time blend records.
- Communicate any issues to management that could cause process delays, deviations, safety concerns, or losses to the company or associates.
- Inspect pipes, doors, fittings, and hoses for loose parts.
- Clean and sanitize equipment as necessary.
- Review requisition and batch sheets to verify items, quantities, and lot codes.
- Perform scale audits and complete batch checklists.
- Measure and blend ingredients according to batch sheet instructions.
- Monitor the blending process.
- Accurately complete all paperwork and place supplies in hoppers or other feeding devices.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and company policies, including reporting incidents to the supervisor.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and report machine malfunctions to the supervisor.
- Maintain accurate process records, work reports, and maintenance logs.
- Clean and maintain equipment and an organized work area.
- Monitor and maintain accurate inventory of materials and equipment.
- Obtain blending materials and components, including physically moving materials.
Requirements
- 1+ year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, write, communicate, and comprehend required paperwork in English.
- Dependable with reliable transportation.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to meet and maintain production standards.
- Proven ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team environment.
- Well-organized with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Basic math skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using units of weight, volume, and distance.
- Ability to meet productivity standards and complete work in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance.
- Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
