About the role

Assist in the management of a respective trade and perform master trade work.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a working craftsperson.
• Act as lead worker as required.
• Serve as a working assistant.
• Perform duties of supervisor in his/her absence.
• Independently make crew level or “how to” decisions regarding work performed.
• Order supplies/equipment with supervisor’s approval.
• Conduct on-the-job training.
• May be responsible for maintaining shop files.
• Perform related duties based on departmental need.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Approved certificate from an accredited related apprenticeship program.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable record.
• EPA refrigeration certificate.
• Four (4) years of related work experience following an apprenticeship program, including one (1) year of supervisory experience.

  • Oils: Air or skin exposure to POLS (Petroleum, Oil and Lubricants) or other cutting fluids.
  • Atmospheric Conditions: Conditions affecting the respiratory system, such as fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
  • Close Quarters: Frequently required to work in crawl spaces, shafts, manholes, sewage and water line pipes, and other areas that could cause claustrophobia.
