Blaster/Painter

Location: Yonges Island, SC. Employment Type: Full-Time.

About the role

The Blaster/Painter will perform blasting and painting using marine coatings to meet contract specifications, oversee surface preparation, manage blasting equipment, and ensure proper use of solvents, acids, detergents, and hand/power tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform blasting and painting with marine coatings per contract requirements.
• Ensure multiple surfaces are properly prepared for high‑performance coating application.
• Oversee proper use of solvents, acids, detergents, and power and hand tools.
• Possess knowledge of various blast methods and equipment for vessels, tanks, and equipment.
• Direct blasting of abrasive‑laden compressed air or water to remove scale, sand, paint, grease, tar, rust, and dirt for an even finish.
• Have experience in marine hydro‑blasting.
• Oversee use, care, and maintenance of blasting equipment.
• Inspect blasting and painting equipment regularly, perform preventive maintenance per schedule, and maintain adequate parts and supplies.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a marine facility or shipyard environment.
• Valid TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credential).
• Valid driver’s license.
• Current First Aid & CPR certification.
• Ability to read, write, and clearly communicate in English.
