Blaster I

Responsibilities

• Perform abrasive blasting on small tanks and piping systems to meet SSPC surface cleanliness and profile requirements.
• Prepare equipment and surfaces for painting and coating through cleaning, solvent wiping, taping, and masking.
• Mix and apply paints and linings in accordance with manufacturer specifications and application requirements.
• Inspect surface preparation and coating applications for quality, compliance, and defects, making repairs as needed.
• Document inspection results, monitor ambient conditions, and verify coating thickness and surface profiles using required gauges and tools.
• Operate forklifts and assist with blasting, painting, and other production-related tasks as required.
• Maintain compliance with company safety procedures, policies, and quality standards.

Requirements

• 1+ years of general labor experience.
• A high school diploma or GED.
• Sand blasting preferred.
• Ability to read basic instructions and drawings.
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing or shop environment.
• Willingness to learn and follow safety procedures.
• Reliable attendance and teamwork mindset.

Qualifications

Calgon Carbon is actively seeking individuals who have a strong background in general labor and sand blasting. Candidates should also possess a high school diploma or equivalent and be comfortable working in a manufacturing or shop environment. Reliable attendance and a willingness to learn and follow safety procedures are essential.

Skills

While not mandatory, having experience in abrasive blasting, mixing and applying paints, and operating forklifts would be advantageous for this role.

Monday–Friday: Day and afternoon shift rotation (details reviewed during interview).
