About the role

The Senior Vice President of Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery is an experienced professional who will support and advance the firm’s global business continuity, disaster recovery, and operational resilience capabilities. This role requires close partnership across Physical Security, Technology, Legal & Compliance, Facilities, Human Resources, Risk, and business leadership teams to ensure coordinated enterprise resilience, crisis management, and recovery capabilities globally. The successful candidate will build and scale programs in a highly collaborative and distributed operating environment, formalizing the firm’s enterprise resilience capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the enterprise Business Continuity Management (BCM) program, building and integrating an outcome-driven, audit-ready program aligned to business priorities.
  • Ensure global regulatory alignment with U.S., Europe, and Asia requirements, as well as internal risk and audit standards.
  • Embed risk-based planning by partnering across business units to drive consistent, risk-informed continuity planning.
  • Collaborate with Physical Security, Technology, Legal & Compliance, Facilities, Human Resources, and business leadership to drive an integrated enterprise resilience strategy and coordinated operational response framework.
  • Lead program maturity efforts by establishing scalable governance, coordination, and operational resilience processes across a decentralized global environment.
  • Promote enterprise awareness and adoption of business continuity and disaster recovery practices by articulating program value, operational impact, and risk reduction outcomes.
  • Conduct Business Impact Analyses (BIA) to identify critical functions, dependencies, and recovery priorities with quantified impact.
  • Define critical services and operational dependencies, mapping third-party dependencies that drive business continuity and recovery outcomes.
  • Design and architect scalable, enterprise-wide BC/DR frameworks aligned to the Chief Security Officer’s (CSO) and operating strategy.
  • Standardize policies and playbooks for continuity and crisis response and recovery.
  • Operationalize BCM plans across business units and regions, maintaining executable plans.
  • Drive training, communication, and accountability to embed ownership of BC/DR practices.
  • Lead testing and validation exercises to confirm readiness and identify gaps.
  • Coordinate cross-functional preparedness and recovery efforts across Physical Security, IT, Legal & Compliance, Facilities, HR, and other operational stakeholders.
  • Support and integrate with the Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) to ensure coordinated response across BC, DR, and physical security incidents.
  • Manage crisis and incident response, functioning as a key escalation point for incident coordination, response execution, and recovery management.
  • Serve as a central coordination leader during incidents, crises, and recovery events, ensuring alignment between security, technology, workplace operations, employee support, and regulatory response activities.
  • Communicate BC/DR capabilities, compliance, and resilience maturity to clients and stakeholders through due diligence questionnaires (DDQs).
  • Deliver executive reporting and program metrics (KPIs and dashboards) to drive transparency and improvement.
  • Oversee the Disaster Recovery (DR) program, aligning it to continuity priorities and ensuring SOX/DORA compliance to protect operations.
  • Align with application owners to define recovery objectives, dependencies, and sequencing, ensuring alignment with business needs.
  • Partner with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) to embed BC/DR into GRC, Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), audit, and deal lifecycle processes.
  • Operationalize recovery capabilities by implementing standardized, executable recovery strategies with internal development standards.
  • Validate and improve recovery capabilities through testing and performance tracking to ensure readiness.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience leading enterprise security, BCM, and DR in complex global environments.
  • Proven track record as an operator in high-tempo, high-accountability settings with strong judgment.
  • Deep experience managing budgets, invoicing, contractors, and vendors.
  • Demonstrated success in building and scaling enterprise resilience programs.
  • Expertise in risk identification, gap analysis, and solution execution.
  • Experience leading and influencing cross-functional initiatives across Physical Security, IT, Legal & Compliance, Facilities, HR, Risk, and business operations in complex global environments.
  • Ability to build, mature, and operationalize enterprise resilience programs in matrixed or decentralized organizational environments.
  • Strong executive engagement skills to influence senior leadership and drive alignment across distributed stakeholders and operational functions.
  • Excellent relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills to build credibility and trust across technical, operational, and executive audiences.
  • Ability to communicate complex resilience, continuity, and recovery concepts in a practical and business-oriented manner.
  • Experience driving organizational adoption and awareness of BC/DR programs in environments with varying levels of resilience maturity.
  • Experience leading crisis response and recovery operations.
  • Advanced program management and cross-functional coordination skills.
  • Effective communicator in global, cross-cultural environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.

This position requires occasional global travel, estimated at less than 10% annually, in support of business continuity, crisis management, and operational resilience initiatives.

Pay

Expected annual base salary range: $200,000 - $250,000. Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. For roles located outside of the U.S., salary bands will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.
