About the role

The Florida Democratic Party has implemented a year-round, volunteer-driven voter contact program to elect Democrats up and down the ballot. This position will be based in North Florida, focusing on re-enrolling more than one million Democrats in Vote-by-Mail (VBM) and building a durable organizing infrastructure across all 67 counties.

Responsibilities

  • Identify stakeholders in the region and statewide and develop a plan for voter contact opportunities geared toward enrolling Black voters in Vote by Mail, ensuring alignment with statewide program goals.
  • Directly supervise staff as assigned and coach volunteers into leadership roles. Provide clear expectations, feedback, and support to help team members meet goals and grow as organizers.
  • Build and maintain relationships with DEC leaders, clubs, caucuses, and local partners. Offer structured support and guidance to help counties build their own sustainable organizing programs.
  • Personally complete regular phone calls and doortodoor canvassing to recruit volunteers and contact voters.
  • Lead regional efforts to recruit, train, manage, and retain volunteers. Develop leadership pipelines that allow highperforming volunteers to take on expanded responsibilities.
  • Support and help execute phonebanking, canvassing, and other voter contact efforts across the region. Ensure consistent implementation of voter contact strategy, tools, and data systems.
  • Maintain data integrity and ensure that metrics are tracked and addressed in a timely and solutionsoriented manner.

Requirements

The ideal candidate for this position will be located in either Pensacola, Tallahassee, or Jacksonville. Qualifications

  • Commitment to upholding the values and mission of the Florida Democratic Party
  • Experience motivating volunteers and communicating the importance of electoral politics and voter participation
  • Strong grounding in field organizing best practices, including volunteer recruitment and management, voter contact, and training
  • Familiarity with Florida’s political landscape and experience working with DECs, clubs, or caucuses is strongly preferred
  • Excellent time management and problemsolving skills
  • Ability to work a variable schedule that includes frequent nights and weekends, and to travel within the assigned region as required
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or green card holder, per FEC regulations
